My dear friend Hanna snapped this picture of me. She is doing a portrait series of her friends as she is wrapping up her final semester. Her goal is to begin to cherish and capture commonplace moments with people who have made the ordinary, everyday routine of schooling seem and be much less mundane. There is so much beauty in stopping in a moment to recognize how much you appreciate it. And stopping with a person to communicate how much you appreciate them. I appreciate Hanna for seeing the beauty in the gift of time as a whole, but moments, individually as well. The moments make up the story and the story takes up time. So whether separately or corporately be present in the context. There is something to be learned through all of it.
"Thinking of the stars night after night I begin to realize ‘the stars are words’ and all the innumerable worlds in the Milky Way are words, and so in this world too. And I realize that no matter where I am, whether in a little room full of thought, or in this endless universe of stars and mountains, it’s all in my mind. There’s no need for solitude. So love life for what it is, and form no preconceptions whatever in your mind."
